Georgia based United Renewable Energy, LLC and US Floors Inc. complete the first phase of a 94.5 kw solar electric power generation system

Dalton, GA based US Floors Inc. a leading sustainable flooring manufacturer, has completed the installation of the first phase of what is likely to be the largest privately owned solar power generation system in the State. The system is mounted on the rooftop of their new sustainable flooring plant in Dalton, which began production of unique and sustainable flooring products in late 2008.

The rooftop array currently consists of 180 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels that generate electricity directly from sunlight. The completed system is rated at 31.5 kilowatts, and generates enough electricity to power four Georgia homes. When the next two phases are installed, the total output of the system will exceed 94 kilowatts, powering a significant portion of the building’s electrical requirements.

New Dimensions features a selection of 24″ x 18″ wide format cork tiles and nominal 7″ x 36″ narrow cork planks, both with beveled edges and exclusive built-in Microban anti-microbial protection. These new additions are precision milled with the patented Uniclic glueless installation profile for ease of installation.
