The latest addition is the introduction of the new generation of USFloors products with builtin Microban® antimicrobial product protection. Microban® protection continuously inhibits the growth of stain causing bacteria, mold and mildew that can damage your floors. Over the past several years, there has been a significant increase in the number of lawsuits involving mold-related property-damage claims. According to statistics compiled by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, mold has affected approximately 1.1 million buildings nationwide.

Consumers will willingly pay a premium for products that will protect their homes, their largest investment, and their families from the damaging and unhealthy consequences that will result from the presence of mold and microbes.

How does Microban® protection work?

When microbes, such as bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration come in contact with the product surface, Microban® protection penetrates the cell wall of the microbe and disrupts key cell functions so that the microbe cannot function, grow or reproduce.

Untreated Cork: The untreated control cork surface exhibited severe fungal growth. The magnified photo taken through a microscope demonstrates uninhibited and healthy fungal growth on the cork surface.

Treated Cork: Cork treated with Microban® Additive LB3 exhibits ability to repel fungal growth (Aspergillus niger).
